Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

PC Speakers

Not sure if this is the right forum, but here goes.

I am looking to replace my PC speakers. I have been through two different sets of creatives with a separate bass bin, as they have both started to violently hum after about 12 months of quite heavy use.

I don't have the space to plug the PC into a hi-fi amp unfortunately, so I'm looking for a good value for money alternative. A pal of mine recommended some Bose multimedia usb speakers, but they are out of my price range.

    Any thoughts/recommendations?

    Many thanks.

Well what kind of speakers are you looking for...music...gaming...both. Do you want 2.1.....5.1....7.1? Are you using onboard sound or running a dedicated high end card. It makes all the difference to know this. What is your BUDGET?

I mean no point in buying a high end set of speakers to plug into some crummy onboard sound now is there......and yes I know high end boards have X-fi onboard now, thats different. You know what I am saying.

Not know what your budget is, i'd recommend these. M-Audio AV-40. Brilliant 2.1 speakers for the cash, bought them about 2 months ago and love mine. They're a much better purchase than a cheap 5.1/7.1 system imo.
