It was capacity wise. Milton Keynes was 65,000. There was at least 80,000 in wembley stadium last night.

Didnt they do 2nites in Milton Keynes?

Yeah, Wembley last night was the biggest individual show they've ever done, BJ said it himself at the start.

    I nearly got escorted out at REM in Marlay park a good few years ago after being spotted taking photos with this;
    olympus_c_700_c700uz.jpg

It was a bit ridiculous. I had to give them my batteries (not the usual buy in a local shop sort) which cost a fortune and never got them back.
Like any gig, "Camera's aren't allowed" but you always see loads of people with cameras.

Live 2 mins away from the park. Was in the concert site yesterday watching them put up the stage.

    Hey guys,
I'm driving up from Waterford City - only driven to Dublin once.
When approaching the M50, if I remember correctly, Northbound was on the left, Southbound on the right, and the Red Cow to the right of that.
From what I've read, I should head southbound on the M50, but can anyone tell me what signs I should follow and what exit I'll be taking?
    Thanks in advance!

Took a wander over to the park last night, as it's near me. The stage is up at the house this time not down at it's usual spot towards the mountains, meaning those further back will be looking up hill at it

ok guess this would be the best place to ask, Myself and the girlfriend are heading down to this from donegal. Thing is we have to head back into dublin that night and are getting dropped off at gig by mates so we can't avail of the dublin bus thing.

Just wondering is there any way of getting either thye dublin bus concert bus back into dublin if you weren't on it going out or would we be able to get the 48A (i think after the gig back into town. any help would be greatly appreciated. Us Donegal people don't get out much!

I thought the stage was at the house in 2008 for The Killers, and I was a bit back and don't remember there being an uphill slope, although maybe I'#m wrong about the stage position. Its weird, because in Wembley they also put the stage at the opposite end to where it usually is, maybe they just wanna be different for the sake of it :s

I hope he doesn't pull this one off in Marlay Park:

"Throughout the gig, the singer declared his love for England and wrapped himself in the St George's flag and wore a wig with the cross on, on a number of occasions."

    :P

The stage was in the usual place at Wembley....
I found out in advance where it would normally be...and queued at the entrance closest to the front at mikes side. (got barrier!)

Weird. Didn't think it'd be where the house is. Although I'm not too fussed. Early entry ftw. (thank ****)

Actually, the Wembley layout was normal. We were at M/N and it was exactly the same setup as it is on the seating chart.

Did anyone here talk of them filming this ?

  • Registered Users Posts: 682 ✭✭✭Viva La Gloria

Well they have been filming nearly all of the shows so I wouldn't be susprised if they did.

Yeah, on ticketmaster it said how the show is being filmed for audio & visual distribution..
I can't find the link, but I definitely saw it! :)

    Bullet in a bible 2 anyone...? :P

Whats the story with early entry then? They can't stop peole queing early..

  • Registered Users Posts: 682 ✭✭✭Viva La Gloria

I think Wembley is the one that's most likely being filmed for a DVD.

Wouldn't worry about the early entry thing, it's grand. They more than likely won't even have a clue what we're talking about when we get there ;)

Don't think it's been answered yet... I'd assume people are going to go early either way to get the pit passes...

I thought it was just any SLR like cameras weren't allowed... Personal camera's are...?

I've never been at a show that was filmed for DVD before but I was at Wembley and I think there would have been more camera's if they were gonna make a live DVD out of it. There were just two tall towers in the middle of the pitch on either side, and a couple of handheld camera's on stage. Doesn't seem like enough to me...

But in comparison to Manchester, everything was very staged at Wembley. And them walking out on to the catwalk at the very end doesn't happen at shows normally.

Regular cameras are fine but SLR's they're usually more strict with. The image I quoted is clearly not an SLR but they gave me hassle over it. I now have a camera that is thin enough to fit in my pocket, 5 times the pixel size of that camera and the zoom reaches further so there's nothing stopping any non-SLR user with a good camera getting a decent pic if they are in a good spot.

Well for Aerosmith/The Who/Faithless and Snow Patrol the Stage was beside the house but for Foo Fighters/Metallica/Kaiser Chiefs the stage was the other end. They seem to swap it every so often and maybe the bands want the house in the background

everything did indeed seem very staged.

and i just noticed..in 21st cb...he sang "scream america" both times...normally he changes it to england/london or whatever?

seems quite staged...maybe..just maybe there's a reason they performed the title track without any of the usual changes...:pac:

Marlay Park are really strict on age, you wont get in if you're 14 and 5ft :/
unless, have you been to the o2? if you can get in there, you'll get into marlay park.

Cameras are usually ok, but last time I was at green day in the o2, they took my camera off me :/ maybe it was just the o2, but its never happened to me in the o2 since (in saying that, i've only been to paramore and 30 seconds to mars there since)

    dont go alone!
    and if you're going
    go early!
everyones plans are to go at about 7am!
me and my friend are going at 8
but you're not supposed to be queuing!

water points are everywhere! you cant really miss them.

dont bring a bag with you! they'll check it and you'll be more likely to be asked for ID, dont draw attention to yourself as much as you can help it!
