Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Wolves coming to Old Trafford and thinking of getting something? I'd be fairly sceptical.

Why accept defeat before even playing? Utd aren't exactly setting the world alight at the moment.

Wonder how much Wolves supporters had to pay for tickets.

Mick's going to whip up a sh*t storm about this.

If United drub them just wait for the conspiracy theories to start, blaming Fergie on it.

It's what alot of clubs do against United, present injuries to United accepted, I think McCarthy's realistic and still pinching himself from last week. Anything for them is a bonus with their next game far more important. Fergie will be expecting a win, no less.

    .

He can't complain come the end of the season and if Wolves are in a relegation battle and another team sends out a weakened side against another team in a relegation battle.

No reason why Wolves could not get a point at OT.

Did Villa and Sunderland do it? No and look what they got. Sunderland were very unlucky not to get the 3 points.

Wolves beat Utd in 2004 it should be noted!

AS for the second string starting 11 they play Burnley on Saturday so thats the game that matters this week.

Johner, if you are comparing Wolves with Villa and Sunderland you are deluded!

    Gona be an interesting game.

Fletcher rested for the weekend. Anderson and Park rightly dropped after such a poor display.
Gibson's gotta step up and do well in a defensive role, which I hope he can push on from his last game.
Obertan starting a game, lets see what he can do. Valencia should be back on form. With our best striker partnership up front.

An extremely attacking line up. Lets hope Carrick can control things from the back, and lets see if De Laet can impress.

Lol Villa prolly a bad example and that win at OT is as rare as a Fabergé egg for them. Win over United period really.

Sunderland do put up a fight but Steve Bruce I think has a different mentality.

Didn't Wolves beat Spurs away at the weekend? If that team can get 3 points at White Hart Lane there is no reason why that same team coudn't get a point at OT.

They were very lucky also and Crouch was having a Tony Blair.

Different teams, micks 1st eleven lost at OT against United in the carling cup. And that was the reserves against wolves nearly full team. Mick is right i suppose, i just bank a few pound on gibson to score anytime and united by 4 or more. heres hoping

Hatrick to be scored by anyone tonight is 9.4 on Betfair.

What McCarthy has done this evening is shamefull.

I predict united to go top this evening. A 7 goal winnng margin is needed...

Commentator on the Sunderland Villa game just said, teams often go to Old Trafford and forget what they do well, but Villa didn't and got their just rewards. Poignant.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,337 ✭✭✭✭monkey9

McCarthy is a disgrace. How insulting is it to Ferguson and Utd that McCarthy thinks he can send out a weakened team and still get three points.

I know Utd lost to Villa, but it's complete unsportsmanship. He's just sticking the middle finger up to Utd.

It would be complete justice if Utd could nick a win tonight. That would show that smug arrogant McCarthy never to take teams lightly, even if they have lost one game in a row!!!

have i missed something, is that very weak wolves team?

Eh, I think he's keeping his key players fit for the games he knows he has a better chance of winning.

Birmingham City vs Blackburn Rovers or Manchester United vs Wolves, I wonder which game would get more viewers for Sky?
I haven't seen a United midweek PL match advertised on telly for years.

Valencia and Gibson has been wasteful, Wolves are coming into the game. Rooney and Berbatov arnt involved at all, Evra has looked our most dangerous player really.

Oh yeah, and Dodgey Kuszczak again.

It's rare I'll stand up for him, but he's playing centre back in his defence.

    Penalty, handball.

Pathetic from the Old Trafford crowd. It sounded like we had a pen given against us!
