Changing Network - 'Unregistered Sim'

Recently changed pre-pay network from Vodafone back to O2. As it was late in the evening when it was done, I was told that my number wouldn't change networks until the following morning. My phone is unblocked and new O2 Sim doesn't ask me for a PIN and tells me it's an 'Unregistered Sim'..Any ideas as to what's going on?

Is vodafone sim still working? If not ,the the sim change has to be done on o2 behalf. Just ring customer care if vodafone sim isn't working.
