    Hey all,

Just wondering what the situation is with the roads out to Shannon Airport is like these days, around Gort etc...?

Have a flight tomorrow and wondering if I'll need to leave extra early to be on the safe side as I remember reading about a few people who missed flights due to flooded roads

    Thanks!

Gort and Shannon are an hour apart. Roads are fine

I imagine all main roads are open. The maps here are from 3 December 2009. http://www.galway.ie/en/Services/PublicNotices/FloodingAdvisoryNotice/

Roadworks on main street in Gort. http://www.aaroadwatch.ie/map/map.asp?#

Note the M6 (not necessarily a whole lot of use to you) is opening on Friday 18 December 2009.

There's a minor diversion in place at Labane (just after Ardrahan) and that's it. Held me up maybe 5 minutes coming back from Limerick yesterday.

There didn't appear to be roadworks or anything approaching it in Gort, just the usual roughly ploughed road surface.
