Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I'm all for the league officials giving Wolves a deduction as long as the same applies to all other clubs who do the same thing.

So this means whenever Man Utd "rests" Giggs, Liverpool "rests" Torres or Chelsea "rests" any of their stars or any other clubs for that matter, they should have points deducted too. One point per player.

And at the end of the season, instead of the Prem winner have 80-90 points, I think maybe 6 points will do.

So in other words, no need to single out Mick McCarthy if other "bigger" clubs do it all the time. You might say "but he rested 10 players". So? To me, it's the same thing. First XI or bust. Or shut up and stop complaining.

I think the answer to the ops question is in the scoreline: Wolverhampton W. 2 - 0 Burnley

McCarthy is a shrewd club manager

And this whole sherade was completely exaggerated.

What an absolutely retarded idea this is.

Docking points for a non first team X1.

Define a first team X1, for example, I would not know who United's strongest line up is. It changes game to game based on numerous factors, such as our opponents and upcoming games. Who is anyone else to tell any premiership manager who their first X1 is? They have that job for a reason and its down to the manager to prioritise where they see fit - its a massive part of football management.

And then how would you prove say when a player is injured. Lets say a player has a slight calf strain - only the player himself can tell you this. Its something thats easy to feign and so how would they prove that a team would then not be putting out one of their first team in this instance. I'd say we would have a lot of mysterious bugs before matches.

Its just beyond a joke. Saying as long as it applies to everyone is equally stupid. It should not be introduced AT ALL.

That really is the stupidest thing ive heard.

What about when Teams like United Liverpool(Not at the minute) Chelsea and Arsenal are representing English football in the champions league, should they be deducted points for not playing their players in a match 3 days away from a champions league quarter/semi final.

What if a player has a light injury and the manager doesn't want to risk him. Liverpool would be relegated for sure.

What if a team has already won the league and a few players havent played enough games to collect a medal despite playing an important part, would you deny them their chance to win a premiership medal?

Gotta laugh at Wengers double standards. From Football365:
December 9: Arsene Wenger makes 11 changes to his starting line-up for Arsenal's final Champions League group game with Olympiakos. Arsenal lose the game 1-0, thus leaving Standard Liege with no chance of qualifying for the second round.

December 15: Mick McCarthy makes ten changes to his starting line-up for Wolves' trip to Manchester United.

December 16: Wenger accuses McCarthy of damaging the "international credibility" of the Premier League, stating "We compete with Manchester United over 37 games instead of 38."

What's the big deal, the bigger clubs have been doing this for years. Sure, United and Arsenal even put out their youth teams in the Champions League ffs.

Well done Mick, 3 wins out of 4 ain't bad. Here's hoping you stay up.
