Tactical...latest met eireann radar shot from 10pm shows some precip in East Limerick.

Well spotted, I was too busy looking at raintoday and Shannon radar is missing.

Don't really think for one second we'll even see a snowflake before the weekend but it sure is fun to see the posts comming think and fast (just like we all want the snow to:D)

Looking good for Saturday night as a front moves down from the north-west. Might rain to begin but snow should follow. Nothing expected until then.

We had a pessimist last night on a similar thread and it was great fun to sit back with a big bag of popcorn :D

I reckon the prospect of snow bring out a bit of a kid in all of us:)

I think the fact that we are only a week away from christmas has increased the interest, since we don't normally see snow pre Xmas . One thing is for sure, I have rarely seen so much uncertainty in the longer range forecasts- there is no certainty that mild weather will get back for Xmas day at this stage .

According to the NRA website the weather station information is updated at 15 mins past the hour with the hourly data.

NRA sites update hourly I think, if you look at http://www.irelandsweather.com/ you will see a map with current informationa and below a table showing different sources of weather.

Met stations and NRA stations update hourly but personal stations that are members update every few minutes infact mine updates every 30 seconds
