Ok people, as the title states, tell us how you would have liked to see the shows ending differently than they did.

    1 - TOS
    2 - TNG
    3 - DS9
    4 - VOY
    5 - ENT

Serious canon endings only folks. Ill go first.

1 - Since TOS didnt have an ending as such this is a hard one. It would have to be only a stopper show to end the series and run into TMP. Some form of a feature lenght episode, featuring heroics by Kirk, resulting in his reluctant promotion to Admiral and Spock taking command of the Enterprise. Perhaps Spock at the end realises command is not for him, and without Kirk, the human experience doesnt hold much interest for him. Concluding in his return to Vulcan and the ship being recalled for refit.

2 - I have to say I quite liked All Good Things, would I change anything in it? No. Trek at its best.

3 - I would have left the Federation right on the brink of destruction, more so than is portrayed in the show at the end of the Dominion War. I would not have had Sisko dissappear into the Celestial Temple and instead return, and move to Bajor like he wanted to.

4 - Voyager, where do we start for a new ending? I like the fact that no main characters were killed (big softie I know), but I somehow wonder if a main character was killed...would it have made their return more poignant? More sacraficial? What if Seven died to protect Voyager during the last encounter with the Borg during transwarp? Maybe....this is turning out a lot harder than I first thought :D

5 - Enterprise, I have to say I really enjoyed it. The show had such huge potential, and they destroyed it all. You cant wrap this show up properly without at least another season. Wasnt it written in the script that Trips death was just a ruse for some reason, and preliminery fifth season episodes involved Trip? I liked the fact that they led the show to a conclusion with the signing of the first federation charter, but it felt so rushed. TNG had no place in the show either, that felt like a bit of a two finger salute to ENT for me. Im not sure, more temporal cold war details, time-travel, Romulan first contact, Klingon war - plenty of material there for a finale methinks.

Anyway - more thoughts on this?

Its not exactly logical but I'll evaluate these shows based on story arc rather than series endings though I may switch between series and films if the conclusions are good enough, if neither qualify I'll come up with suggested endings.

TOS ended with TUC, the films were a continuation of a premature end. As such TUC is such an excellent, nay poignant conclusion to the whole saga that not only is it shakespearean in its awesomness, in my opinion it concludes the TOS saga.

TNG finishes with AGT, the films can be counted barring nemesis as ancilliaries. AGT perfectly resolves the main themes of TNG and as such is one of the best pieces of television ever made, I wouldn't consider Nemesis as the end of TNG as to me, considering the history behind the production of that film, it was as much TNG as the 1969 version of Casino Royale is to James Bond.

DS9, hmmm excellent first part, but heres what I would have changed. The fed get their ass kicked, the dominion take over and Sisko etc form a resistance army, scattered and struggling for survival. Dunno what I'd do with Gul Dukat though, I guess he'd be the emissary of the Pah Wraiths who are using dominion rule to direct the course of the galaxy towards their malign philosophy.

Voy, they return but oh no! right in the middle of dominion space, formerly belonging to the fed. They suffer heavy damage including most of the crew dying, Janeway etc, with 7, kim, the doctor and Paris surviving from the main cast. However despite the heavy onslaught from a fleet of dominion ships they aren't destroyed owing to their tech enhancements, they join up later with Sisko and give the resistance a fighting chance with their enhancements.

    Ent, meh.
