Sport is a great way to get physical exercise. Team sports can be valuable in developing teamwork skills while individual sports can enhance self-discipline. Giving young people, especially, an outlet for physical execise can help a great deal in healthy development to adulthood. It can also help develope a healthy competitive spirit in indivuduals and communities. A sporting team or individual can be a source of pride for a community and much of sport in general is built on a volunteer foundation.

There are plenty of other sports where volunteers are important. Some of the links above are around general volunteering issues, it may be simplest to find out where your local sporting club is and volunteer through them. Helping people participate in sports is another way of enhancing community spirit and adding to the quality of life of people in the community. Post away if you have experience of volunteering in sport or other issues you want to discuss on volunteering in sport.

A great opportunity to recognise successful transplants as a result of organ donation and also those who are on dialysis waiting on their kidneys. Good craic
