This is going to sound strange but signing David Bentley made Aeron Lennon the player he is now.

When Bentley came, he had a huge reputation and was tipped to take over from David Beckham. Lennon had gone completely off the ball after his early career promise, either he'd got too big for his boots or just lacked motivation.

When Bentley joined, Lennon dug deep and fought for his place - and has never looked back!!

So although in isolation the £16m on Bentley is a complete waste of money - the money indirectly gave us the Lennon we have today!

As for Kranjkar, for 2 mill, transfer of the season!! He's saying today that for Croatia he plays on left and Luca plays in centre - maybe it could work for us?

Hahaha!! If only I was - there would be some changes - Martin Jol would still be manager, Berbatov would be up front with Defoe, and Carrick would be running the midfield with Wilson!! Ashley Young would have been bought from Watford when Jol wanted him for the LM with Lennon on the right!

TBF Stillrickyvilla has a good point but its reaching a bit :D

I Cant wait to see the two of them playing on the same team, I don't see any problem with NK on the Left and LM in the middle.

Lennon has been superb, and is a star in the making.
We have a gem in Modric, and im quietly glad he aint playing in the summer.

But once again, the test will come whe Manyoo or another come calling with mega money over the next 18 months.

Surely we should be able to get a refund for Bentley under consumer statutory laws?
