Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

The first (and last!) time I ever dived in a wetsuit in Irish waters was there. 4 degree water and -2 air temp! In a snow Blizzard. Everything was feckin frozen. In neoprene. My skin still turns blue at the thought..

Have you any shots of them on the way back - tired, sweating and covered in mud. They're the shots I love to see.

  • Registered Users Posts: 153 ✭✭Roy Rogers

katiemaloe, any chance you could share the exif data for that shot? Don't seem to be able to access it on the pix.ie page. Did you do much in the way of pp on it?

I quite like the stark black&white. I've been trying to achieve something similar intentionally lately -- I have taken a few, but they're mostly happy accidents!

EDIT: Actually, from looking at your profile I gather it was shot on film. No wonder there's no exif :)

Also, for my first actual post of a photo, one from a stroll yesterday:

No I gave up the chase after two and half hours, having lost them at least twice. It was like stepping back in time, and as one local put it to me in the past most of the people out today would not be allowed near the hunt.

Pity - I've seen some brilliant shots of the particiapnts completely knackered and mud splattered - they really tell the story of hunting. Nothing to do with killing foxes - it's all about the horses and the thrill of the chase. I'm amazed at the skill and daring of these people, when you see some of the terrain they cross on their horses - it's astonishing!

    Wife Beater

TBH it looks like she's well able to handle herself.

I may be missing what happened prior to the capture but who's beating up who?!

She was well able to handle herself alright, I was playing on the words 'wife beater' Shes probably his wife and giving him a beating by the looks of it.

Developed the first roll of film myself last night. Fuji Neopan 400 shot with Canon Eos 1 and scanned with Canon 4400F. Happy with the results.

Thanks Hugh. It's my front sitting room. Just one of the advantages of being seperated. :) The shiny floor is a 4x4 sheet of perspex painted white underneath.

    Hey Rob,
Yeah i took this photo with film- the free fuji 200 film thats knockin about. I changed it to black and white afterwards and slightly upped the contrast. Thas it, easy peasy! :) I'm not a fan of too much messin about afterwards, I don't like the idea of changing the image too much from how it was originally taken.
PS I like your photo too! Well done :)

The cranes are proudly standing over an evacuated Danniger (company now gone) site that was building the, what was to be, new headquarters of AngloIrish bank (now...well not gone...but).
