Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Want to reinstall my up to date XP home set-up. Don't want to have to download all the hot-fixes. Have Copy of Xp that came with my Dell in 2002 and a copy of SP3 from MS. Been googling around a bit but a lot of the stuff seems out of date.

Anybody done this recently? What is the best software to use. I haven't done any work on PC in a long time so need a fairly easy procedure.

You will need to read this carefully
    http://www.ryanvm.net/msfn/updatepack-sp3.html

Nlite is the software I use
    http://www.nliteos.com/download.html

I usual do this with 10 PC or more
If you just have the one PC to install
    Just do this
Install XP SP3 and office updates
    then go to windows update
and let it do the rest for you

Can' figure out any of this stuff. Perhaps will have to reinstall from start. I have Dell OEM XP Home and SP2 on discs. My system is working O.K. was hoping to just get a clean install without all the accumulations of the last 4 years.

What you might try is do your OS install, update drivers and windows then use software like Acronis True Image to make a full image back up.

Just removed Acronis, made a complete image, and using the option to "Verify Image" after less than a minute it told me the iamge was corrupt. Anyway got a OEM copy of XP Home SP3 from local friendly PC repair shop. Apparently this should work with the Serial from own OEM copy of of XP Home (pre SP1). A lot less downloading, if it works. Apart from Acronis, any freeware out there to image the OS once I've it setup to my liking.

I've had a bit of trouble with Acronis before, but I've used it quite a lot. Always good to make a second copy of any image discs you make in case of corruption.
