    I don't see your point.

If they were in the back they shouldn't have been. Simple as that.

Dont want to drag this off topic...
But many people are in the back of a commercial jeep. See it everyday! Children going with fathers, workers going to the shop. If these stupid rules wearnt in place they'd have a seat and seat-belt. 1 passenger place to be fair isnt enough.

But they are commercials, the whole idea is that the space behind the driver and passenger is for carrying commercial goods. If people are going to carry passengers in the rear, they need to buy one with seats or a crewcab. Your argument could be used for vans too - The idea of the space in the rear of a van is also to carry commercial goods - not people.

A crew cab commercial is totally different to a normal commercial jeep like a Nisaan Patrol or a Pajero.

You CANNOT put rear seats into a commercial jeep like a Patrol or a Pajero.

If yu also commercialise a passenger jeep,to pay cheaper tax,but then put back in the rear seats, your insurance will be null and void and you are also commiting FRAUD,so the gardai and customs will have a field day with you when you are stoped at a garda/customs and revenue checkpoint.

A crew cab is purpose built by the manufacturer with a passenger seating ares behind the driver and then a commercial load space behing the rear crew cab seats.

You can get crew cab vans like a transit crew cab,Merc Sprinter,Opel,Renault etc etc.

You can also get a crew cab commercial jeep like a Hilux,L200,Navara.

I currently have a Mitsi L200 crew cab commercial (pic attached).

1 passenger in the front and space for 2 in the rear, then the back of the jeep, where the canopy is.

If you dont like the rules, then tough.

Thats how it is,so get used to it.

If you want to take more than 1 passenger, than go buy a crew cab commercial.

    Simple as and end of.

    Dosent make it right though.

Get over it and deal with it.

Go buy a crew cab commercial if you want more than 1 passenger in the jeep with you.

    End of.........Regards.

Ok, end the discussion on the rights and wrongs of commercial road tax, it's going nowhere, this isn't the place or the thread for it.

I'll shortly extract the bulk of this thread and a couple of others to make a sticky on how to commercialise a passenger jeep for VRT (and ask a couple of you to review it first if that's OK). Hopefully it will cut down on some of the repetitive questions.

    Hey colm,
Any idea or word how this Pajero has been running, I made enquiries at the time you were selling it but lost out to someone else. Was impressed with the job you did on it and just stumbled across the thread and wondered what I missed out on. I understand you may nit have heard from the buyer since but curiosity killed the cat ya know !!

    ;)

Havent heard anything back, which is good. It was so good mechanically I doubt it would give bother, just had no need for it anymore.
