    TWO and NW forums.

    met eireann don't think the precipitation will make very much in their forecast just there on tv even if it is snow! also showers seem like they will be more coastal in munster! all still seems to be going downhill though gerry murphy did mention the 's' word.

    also seems to be a front quite new the south coast on tuesday morning next or is that too far away for the moment?

    Is it encouraging that we are seeing reports of graupel and sleet in NI now and not just all rain considering they back edge hasnt reached there yet?

    12Z GFS showing stronger precip for midnight than the 06Z but I'm not sure if there's any point even looking at the GFS for this event. :pac:

    The cloud associated with these fronts looks insubstantial next to what hit Scotland. My fingers are crossed but I fear Dublin will see snizzle at best.

    Heavy snow. Icy Conditions

    UPDATE 15:00 19/12/2009

    Heavy snow and icy conditions are forecast to affect Northern Ireland from this evening and continuing into Sunday and Monday.

    The heaviest snow is expected in Co Antrim, Co Londonderry and Co Tyrone. 10 - 15 cm is expected at low levels with local falls of up 20 cm and 15 - 25cm over high ground.

    Co Armagh, Co Down, and Co Fermanagh are expected to escape the worst of the snow with 5 - 10 cm at low levels with 15 cm on high ground.

    Disruption to travel and power networks is likely.
    Further updates will be issued later today Please stay tuned to weather forecasts.

    the shower potential behind - how is that looking? hoping they'll get south and the atlantic will add some pep to them. we remain hopeful for some snow tomorrow john 1984 and limerick has a good chance.
