2010 - twenty ten or two thousand and ten

I hear plenty of people on the TV saying TWENTY TEN for 2010... it sounds stupid... what's wrong with TWO THOUSAND AND TEN Nobody went round saying TWENTY ZERO NINE (2009), it was TWO THOUSAND AND NINE

Can you believe that there was a long arguement about this on the radio? Honestly if people argue about something like this it makes me lose all faith in humanity. Who gives a **** let people say it how they want!

Some guy on the radio...professor in the US says that proper grammar is two thousand ten. Everyone knows the "and" is improper, but it helps the name roll off the tongue easier. However, Twenty Ten is less syllables and keeps in line with how everyone has said it for a long time. I was born in nineteen eighty three...not one thousand nine hundred eighty three.
