It is absolutely safe to say, from the opinion of any reasonable human being that you are an ignorant bigoted person. I wonder why people with views like this even attempt to hold a reasonable debate with anyone. Fair play to Jakkass for even responding to something as foul as that.

Some people really cannot differentiate from Science and Religion/Philosphy. Religion can't replace science and neither can science replace religion. From studying science we can derive the technicalities of our existence and study the characteristics of the world around us. We can study these systems of life and we can study the world around us. Imatgine the world to be a book that is being read and is constantly being written. That which has been written cannot be changed and that which is to come depends on the actions of present. We can study this book and through the study of the books technicalities and features we can learn more about its author just as we do with any other book in existence. We can discover what type of person they are and what they are like and how they think and write. This can be applied to our existence likewise. Science is the study of our existence and its systems and processes. Religion is the study of why there is existence and why existence is as it is. Religion and Science can complement eachother. Through the study of science we study the creation and from this learn about the creator, through the study of religion/philosphy we study the reason for the creator's creation.
No. Through the study of science we investigate our origin without assuming that we were created or that there is indeed a creator.

Philosophy has its place, but philosophy is only good philsophy if it starts from a scientific basis. i.e. to work from the axiom that a creator exists and we were created would be bad philosophy as there is nothing scientific which suggests this.

You can't investigate the "why" of something for which there is no theory indicating its existence.

Well that's not true. Religion can't replace science, because that would be retarded. However, science can replace religion a la evolution vs creationism.
Mind if I use your little phrase?

    Deary me....

The story of creation is not to explain how the world was created. It describes the reasons for creation.

Science doesn't tell us why existence exists. It never will as science only studys existence and not from what existence came to be.
