Will be heading over for a 5-month stint of research and language immersion in late January. I'm doing a PhD and am going as part of the Erasmus programme for postgraduate researchers. I'm in my late twenties and really don't want to live with a bunch of thirsty students aged 19-23, which unfortunately is looking like the easy and cheap option in the university's International Students' Hall of residence. From people who have lived in such places though, what can be expected? Loads of noise and parties, or are the rules on noise and disturbance a bit stricter in Germany than in Ireland?
