I think the late comers will have the easiest time finding the group, what with all the blaring glaring flashes.

I'd like to attend to learn more about flashes in photography, but I don't have an external flash to my Canon 50d so I'll just be watching. I'm thinking about buying an external flash soon so hopefully I can learn some things.
I'm also looking at upgrading my 28-135mm kit lens so if anyone has a 17-55mm, 24-70mm, or 24-105mm I'd like to check it out too.

JSPRUIT, I shoot Nikon mostly but I have a Canon 430EX flash which you may use tomorrow if you wish.
In Greystones tonight the weather is atrocious, wind and rain. If it is anything like this tomorrow I don't see this event happening under the open sky in the Phoenix Park.

Starting to look unlikely that I will be able to make it. Have a rugby match at 2.30 in Santry and there is some stuff that needs to be dealt with after the match so depending on how long that takes I may not get out

Had a great time meeting everyone, thanks to all who came along. Big to thanks to Borderfox + Smelttheglove for their show n tell. Also a big thanks to everyone for letting people try out the gear.

Why is there a shadow behind the ball ? the ball was in the air so there was no solid background for the shadow to cast on to ? If ya get what I mean !

I can't see close up on mu phone but I'm guessing it's a tad bit of motion blur, .

Motion blur from 1/30th of a second, from what we were talking about this is dragging the shutter by using the flash to freeze the motion of the ball but we wanted some ambient also to balance the scene and this blur is how far the ball moved in 1/30th (only with the ambient not the flash)
