How to record gameplay. Help :)

hi guys.

im looking to record some of my gameplay to upload to youtube.

what is the easiests way?

i have checked some videos on youtube and by the looks of it i will need some equipment?? like a capture card.

where can they be bought. (around Dublin)


im a noob to this any help would be greatly appreciated.

You on PC? Heard of fraps?

If you have a mini dv cam that has an s-video connection, you could hook it up to your pc and set your pc to clone duel monitors so whats on your pc screen shows on the camera. Then use it like a video machine

im looking to record my 360 game play.

my lap top has a hdmi slot if that makes any difference, my 360 is an elite.

off a 360? that'd make things a bit complicated I'd say...

may have to have something in between the console and the tv to capture (DVR etc), copy off that, convert, upload... messy

If you want to record Xbox 360 play in HD you'll need:

Blackmagic Intensity Pro
Component cable (worked better for me)
Lots of hard drive space

Think you can get a dazzle platnium in maplins in town. But you need to also buy 3 av splitters and a double ended rca cable. Also the dazzles only allow you to record while playing in standard def. Although you can buy a grand hand view 3 I think its called to work with the dazzle which will let you play on a vga but it still records standard def. Right then:

Dazzle will be the easiest way in my experience, it won't be HD but it offers great quality. It goes in by USB for ease of use as well. As a previous poster said you'll to get three AV splitters, and three RCA Male-to-Female converters. You'll also need two sets of composite cables.

For the cable you'd usually connect your Xbox to your TV, connect into your three AV splitters. Then get one set of composit cables, put each colour into each splitter (matching the colour of the Xbox 360 cable) and then connect the other end of the cables into the Dazzle. Do the exact same with the other set of cables, but connect them into your TV. You'll need to play the game on the TV because the game becomes broken and has a horrible frame rate.

You then need capture software, but I believe you get capture software with the Dazzle. That's really it, if you need any help pop me a PM.

Buy the standard edition (DVC 100), Your just paying for the extra software that you don't require, The standard version is about 70 euro, PC world are selling the dazzle now too.

I was sick of looking at tutorials for the Dazzle that went on for 10 mins with an annoying American kid trying to explain everything, So i made my own quick tutorial!

The platinum has the editing software and the DVD recorder does not, Your just paying for their extra software, Just buy the basic one
