Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Installing Win XP on a laptop

I got a present of a laptop computer (Acer Travelmate 2201 lc). It has a 2.66 GHz Celeron chip and 256 MB of DDR SODIMM industry standard RAM. It's monitor is 15 inches.

It was running slowly, so I tried to tidy up the software. I did that too vigorously, and it refused to boot.

Eventually I deleted all partitions and began installing Win XP on it. It would only boot into safe mode. The little symbol would only scroll nearly three times before freezing. It was missing at least four drivers which I found on the Internet. I installed them, but it still will only boot into safe mode.

It does not have the problem with agp440.sys that another questioner on boards has.

I am interested in reading the bootlog for the Win XP system, or in running other diagnostics.

    How could I proceed?
