is it better to get a phone with skype already integrated rather than downloading the skype lite software.

is it necessary to encrypt the phone when using skype

It doesn't make much difference in actual functionality; i had the n95 version and HTC versions and it was fine, everything there except video calling. But, having used the integrated version, it makes IMing much more slick as you don't need to load an application and check it, it's there the same as a text message or email,. Same with phoning, you can do the same thing by going to Skype Mobile and using that, but having it in every contact: Mobile call, SMS, Call with Skype. It's just slicker and makes it easier say when you get a Wifi spot or use HSDPA. Once you are roaming around, any message or calls come up just like a SMS or regular call.
