Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Philips 8404 DTS Passthrough question

    Hi Guys,

I think I know the answer to my 1st question but I cant find confirmation anywhere. I wondering if my Philips LCD 42PFL8404 can or can not pass through DTS to my Philips HTS6100 Soundbar?

My setup currently consists of a Popcorn Hour A110 connected via HDMI to the TV and I'm using the S/PDIF to pass audio through to the soundbar which according to the screen on the soundbar is passing through Dolby Digital, but when I set up the Popcorn Hour to Digital Raw the DTS doesn't seem to get passed through the TV. I know that most TVs don't, but I thought this did yet I can't find any info on the Philips site to confirm this.

Popcorn Hour only has optical out and the soundbar only S/PDIF in so I'm probably going to get a stand alone converter to get the DTS through that way. Is that the only way?

Other question is that I'm running the Sky+ via Scart to the TV and in turn the audio through to the soundbar on that same S/PDIF connection. When I add in that optical to spdif converter is it ok to use some sort of Y splitter at the soundbar end to allow both connections (1 from PopcornHour and 1 from TV to carry Sky+ Audio) simultaneously?

    Thanks,
    John

Ok, I figured it doesnt passthrough DTS so I have used an optical to digital coax converter and have the audio from the Popcorn Hour to the HTS now wired with it and getting DTS :
