Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Hi guys, first of all if I have posted this in the wrong forum could the mods please move it to the appropriate area?

Ok, so, I'm having some problems with my PC. Its a few years old but I've been away for the last year and a half, its been in storage and hasn't been touched since I left. I booted it yesterday and it worked fine for about 15 minutes, then the screen went blank. The monitor was still on (green light) but there was nothing on the screen.

Now if I plug out the monitor cable from the back of the machine, the monitor will go to standby (orange light) and then if I plug the cable back in I get visual for about 20 seconds then the screen will go blank again.

Now I thought it may have been the DVI adaptor I have been using (its a vga plug on the monitor) but I've tried another and its the same situation. I have also tried the monitor on another machine in the house and it works perfectly.

I have Dual NVIDIA GeForce™ 7800 GTX PCI-E 256MB's running in the machine, I've tried both individually and in different configuarations but its the same issues everytime.

The only thing a friend of mine suggested (he had the same problem it seems) was replacing the bios battery, but from everything I've googled about the bios battery does not apply to the problem I seem to be having.

I'm at my wits end here, it was working perfectly before I left, would anyone have any clue of what possibly might be my problem?

My Mobo is an Asus nForce™4 SLI™ Chipset Motherboard PCI Express

Never mind all, I managed to find the problem, turns out it was my monitor all along. When I tested it on my old machine yesterday I didnt leave it on long enough for the problem to develop, but I've tried it for longer just now and the same situation was happening on the other machine (Which is now my familys machine so is used quite regulary) And as it happens tried the old monitor on my machine and its working perfectly.
