Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Skoda Octavia alarm issue

My dad just bought a 02 1.4 Octavia.
He has the key fobs, but they don't seem to do anything.
He's replaced the batteries, but still nothing.

Would anyone know how to reset the code (I'm guessing that this could be the problem)

He says that there are "3 pins" on the dash, that correspond to 3 pins on the fobs, he has "mated" these, but still not working.

I've been all over the Skoda, VW, Audi forums, but can't really find a similar issue on any of them.

There could well be a knack to all of this, ie. with drivers door open, press button X twice, then within 10 seconds, do a backward somersault etc.

    Anyone any suggestions please.

    Thanks.

Sounds like an aftermarket alarm or immobiliser. Are there any brand names on the fob's he has?

I've not seen it yet, but from the searching I've done so far, I think it's a scorpion.

    Thanks for the replies.

Probably been disabled or turned off.could well work out cheaper to just replace that unit than repair it
