here is my rant for today and I stress TODAY because I think I'll be moaning every day from now on!:D

I'm crippled with acid reflux! It's keeping me awake all night :(

Gaviscon helps a little. It's been non stop for about a week and my throat and chest hurts :'(.

I've also been feeling really lazy. Did an hours walk today and my legs and ankles kill. Trying to walk everyday for an hour but my lower back and pelvis hurt so bad. Feels like my bones are breaking!!

must be going through a baby growth spurt or something...absolutely knackered all day, stomach hurting, tight and lots of muscle pain. Even bending over was a real challenge.

Got home, had dinner and fell asleep on the couch. 30 minutes after I fell asleep got woken up by two phone calls in a row (after 8pm!) looking for a survey and something else stupid. Then I must have blasted the face off my OH for falling asleep and leaving something awful on the telly or who knows what. Poor guy got the bad end of me getting woken up by the phone calls and I literally have no idea what I even was shouting about.

Note to self: being waken this tired is like poking a bear in the eye....put phone on SILENCE and warn OH! Feeling like a **** person now! :(

Had apt with blood specialist at hospital today. Found out that i'm a higher risk of blood clots after the birth. I've been told that I will be injecting myself everyday for six weeks from 24hrs after delivery
I also have to wear those medical socks until I give birth and after i give birth! They cost 70euro each and the hospital recommended 3pairs:eek::eek:

    Feeling miserable today and weepy!!

Oh my god sleepytrees, that is an absolutely obscene amount for a damn pair of socks!!!! Is any portion of that covered by medical card or can you get partial payment from private health insurance?

Seeing as i'm new here i'm not goin to moan overly today, for once i'm actually feeling good since the beginning of this pregnancy, however I'm going to moan about the size of the bump. Now i know we all have those days where we just feel "fat" and bloated etc, that i don't mind, what i do mind is when i go for my 12 week check up (at 11 + 4) and have my docs first words to me " Oh my god you're massive" followed by her saying it's not bloating or gas or any of the hundred and one other things it could be, but definitely bump. I don't mind showing so early and to such a large extent, but it just annoyed the hell outta me when my doc said it to me. *sigh* Rant over, i feel much better, so i'm gonna have me some choccy cake now :D

I dont blame you for feeling miserable! Injections and socks! I got 3 pairs free after my C-section as I'd to wear them for 6 weeks. I managed nearly 4 weeks and then gave up - but I wasnt particularly at risk. Would you try to buy them online it might be cheaper?

Hi sleepytrees, have you a dvt? I have had one since 13 weeks though it took the hospital 2 weeks to finally get me a scan to clarify that it was a clot so since week 11. I have the daily injections also into the tummy, its pants isnt it,I'm 26 weeks now this week so theres still another 20 weeks of them to come! Was at hemotologist last week as well,he wasnt happy with me cos I stopped wearing the stockings as they were unbearable bloody thigh high things. He prescribed below the knee grade 2 compression, there is a HUGE price difference in them, none will last longer than 30 washes apparently I got my scholl ones at 23 euro a pair from the local pharmacist while boots wanted 80 euro for them! also the ones i got are like black tights, very easy to wear, not so great in the heat but have definately improved the circulation in my leg. He also changed the dosage i was getting as it was dangerously high! I hate needles,my tummys like a pin cushion!

My heart goes out to you ladies, injections are bad enough at the best of times, but havin to get them every day till 6 weeks after the babs arrives! You poor things, ye are braver women than i am! Makes my moan seem inconsequential now. I'm itchy as hell the last few days, my legs and arms i'd happily chew off right now and my feet feel like they are on fire sometimes :-(

  • Registered Users Posts: 197 ✭✭hazeler

Not a real moan but a mini-moan nonetheless!

I couldn't paint my outer three toes on either foot... Got the big one and the second one on both feet and then couldn't, in any fashion, contort my body to allow me paint the rest! Asked my charming husband to help! He politely told me "he couldn't handle the smell"... (of the polish- not my feet I'm assuming!) que daggers and evil thoughts of clever ways to destroy him...

Waited for my 11 yo to come home, who just laughed at the situation but helped me graciously, all while chatting to the bump :D hoping this nail varnish lasts forever! lol!

4 weeks till due date and baby feels like a bowling ball on my front bottom. I literally think its going to fall out if I open my legs. Its still lying breach so it must be its bottom lodged in my fanny. And its booting me all day every day in the same spot. My stomach is aching and feels so stretched.

And dont get me started on the chronic constipation. I am on double dose of galfer for anemia and cant p00. Totally miserable. And whats with the heat? I am boiling in work, I feel like a big, sweaty beached whale. If I could get it out today I would.

    Rant over.
    I feel much better.

    This thread is great!

I'll be back later for another moan:D

I had morning sickness in the first four months and now when my labour day is justaround the corner. I'm sick and tired of being nausea all the time!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,916 ✭✭✭✭iguana

To think I was excited last week when the baby kicked my rib. Now that it's becoming a regular occurrence that lasts longer than a split second, it's such a weird uncomfortable feeling. It's like my ribs are being slowly pried open from the inside.

(And it's all on the right. This baby really loves my right side for some reason. Some days my right side bump is clearly sticking out more while my left side looks kind of hollow. It's weird.)

oh Im fed up :-( baby has no intention of making am appearance any time soon

this may be contraversial but I am so happy it is raining, lycra compression stockings in 30 degreee heat is not fun nor dignified! I can get my shoes on yay!

I'm glad of the temp drop too. Not so impressed with a 5am bout of baby hiccups though. SO annoying its impossible to sleep through them when they go on so long.

I can't imagine what you are going through (and I really hope I don't know myself in 14 weeks) but fingers crossed your baby makes an appearance soon.

Consultant told me baby has turned (must have been all the movement and kicking last week) and head is very engaged. Still got 3.5 weeks to go.....

Does anyone know if head is "very engaged" does that mean its going to make an appearance soon?

Work finished in 10 days.....literally marking them off the calendar every day.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,143 ✭✭✭Thumby

Uuuggghhhh!!! I'm so annoyed with the damn hospital. They never sent out my first appointment despite my registeration form having been returned to them 7 weeks ago. I rang them today and apparently my appointment is this friday. I wouldn't have even known only i rang them!

Browned off cause my anomaly scan has been moved! Technically it's after 22 weeks as well (only by a day but this is my moan)! Haven't seen baby since 11 weeks and I'm getting impatient

gems1183 so sorry to hear about you injecting yourself since week 13! That really sucks! That's much worse than me. I hadn't even got a DVT!! They are just going on bloods test that they took before I was pregnant a few years ago.Are the injections really horrible? Do they have any side effects? Thanks for the advise about the Scholl ones!

ah girls I've had a hell of a day-

I dropped my damn coffee cup this morning spilling a full cup all over myself, the floor, the wall, the stairs you name it!
Then I went to the doctor- they let me sit there for 45 minutes before they bothered to tell me there were no doctors actually in the office and so I wouldn't be seen that day.
Then I went to specsavers for a previously set up appointment and was told I couldnt be seen since I was lacking some form I had never been told about.
Then I went home and was making myself a hot water bottle since my back was in bits and ending up spilling boiling water all over my hand and then cried like a baby for 30 minutes on the couch.

Was not a good day :( But I did buy a cute giraffe outfit from mothercare on sale for 9 euro (to which my OH informed me its actually a cow but damnit after my day its going to be giraffe if I want it to be a giraffe) and set up my appointment for my 3d scan!

hi sleepytrees, I wont lie but the injections arent great but then you kinda get used to them.I have awful bruising from them but I'm on a very high dose cos of the dvt.they dont hurt so much but dont rub the injection site after you give it,it doesnt bruise as much and try and avoid scratching it. if you take your time pushing the dose in it wont come up in lumps but apparently they are completely normal as well. Its pure sh*t but the end result is a healthy babs and a healthy you :) the stockings have been cruel though in the heat i thought i was going to pass out and they have to stay on,both legs!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,181 ✭✭✭2xj3hplqgsbkym

Am so annoyed because I can't reach anything- plugging things in, picking things off the floor, trying to cut my toe nails, never mind my lady bits!

Had intended to spend the day shopping and was wrecked after three shops - aaaghh.
6 weeks to go. Then 6 more weeks recovery from section scar.

    Moan over. feel better :)

    Todays rant;

Has anyone found that non pregnant people seem to be thrilled when they say "you're huge", "you're getting very big", "you're only 22 weeks gone? My god". I thought it was socially unacceptable to tell a woman she's fat so why is it different to tell her she's enormously pregnant?

    *sigh*

    Rant over
