I live in an estate with over 96 houses and 24 apartments. Out of all the houses and apartments only 53 places have decorations up as far as I can see anyway...
Is that stingy? And what is it like in other areas? When did/do all ye other boardsies put up your decorations?
I put mine up December the 8th.

Jesus, sorry to hear that. I don't envy you. My brother died a few years ago. His birthday was on Christmas day so we never really knew what to do - did we still celebrate it or what.. we decided to put a tree up that year, it was more to distract ourselves than anything else. We all go to the graveyard now on Christmas day, sometime we bring a hip flask and have a drink around the grave. That probably sound mental but it kind of makes us remember all about him and we end up spending a bit of time there. Sometimes people are crying, sometimes laughing. Its good to mark [funny his name was Mark] the occasion anyway.

OP are all of the houses occupied? Maybe thats why there aren't many decorations up or if you are in a commuter type town maybe lots of ppl are leaving there to go home for a few days.

I only put up mine today. Had the tree outside since last week but was too cold to go out and attach it to the stand. Looks great now, feel really Christmas-sy

Do you know it's heartbreaking at this time of year, because it's supposed to be a happy time.

But it will always be there now for you and his family.

That is sad and I'm sorry that you have that to carry with you now.

I wish you a peaceful Christmas.
