I'm in Charlesland and wondered if this has happened to anyone else? Our boiler just started shaking violently and loudly, pipes shaking etc. We turned off the water, gas, washing machine etc. Can't get hold of a plumber but am a bit concerned - anyone have a clue about this, or what I can do? It has stopped by the way.

What boiler is it? It sounds possibly like the pump has stopped working or lack of water.... water not circulating/boiling, hence the pipes rattling and banging. I am going out on a call shortly (Delgany) and will PM you my number in a mo.... Call me asap and I will call and have a look.. BTW I am an RGI.... Registered Gas Installer!!
