There's a candle shop on Dame Street selling Bicycle Cards - Jumbo index for only €2.50. Bargain - I bought a couple of packs to use for my home games next year. Shop is just on very corner of Dame Street near Trinity College.

    Thanks for the advert :D

We plan some changes there in the new year - reverting back to the Special Days name we had in Liffey Valley for 8 years and doing a decent selection of poker / cards along with usual gift ranges.

Happy Christmas to all my customers and hope the New Year brings good winnings:)

Is that the place on College Green. Mate went in there and couldn't find anything poker related and was given a bemused look when he asked some member of staff.

Not sure of the name of the shop - that other poster can probably enlighten us. Big sign in the window advertising Yankee Candles.

I went in to by a tiger hot water bottle thing for my sister in law and just happened to see a shelf of cards. Couldn't believe they were only €2.50. Figured the owner had gotten them for free from a supplier for buying poker sets off them or something. [they also sold poker sets]

The store name is Wick & Co - its next door to JJ Fox Cigar Store right at the traffic lights. (there may be a name change soon back to the original Special Days name I had in Liffey Valley)

I have the basic stocked there including copag, bicycle, BEE, tallyho, backing cards, dealer buttons & some chip sets. Same price as our website casinoshop.ie

You sell the table felt anywhere? I've got a table we use but current felt is wrecked. Do I have to order online?

Yep - online or in the showrooms in Athy. The shop in Dublin is just too small to carry anything other than the basics.

Aw man! I remember Special Days in the Liffey Valley. Bought my first ever chip set in there (which I still have). I've bought two poker tables off them too (one for Dublin, one for Sligo). They had poker stuff for sale long before it was fashion and it was always the best of stuff.

They sell the felt at casinoshop.ie. They have it in green, red & blue...but they may be out of blue:).
It's not like the suited speed felt stuff but it is a good quality that will take a good stretching and hold a row of furniture staples without falling to bits.

It's a good playing surface too, the cloth doesn't go white or lose it's colour even with excessive play...Jesus, I sound like their marketing department!!....delivery service is spot on too.

HI, we need a few sets of cards for our work league. I use the copags at home but may be a little slippery for the guys in work to deal with. What cards would you suggest that wicks stock? I'd prefer something that was going to last a while. They guys really don;t know how to squeeze cards properly and will pro bend if they're just the basic plastic covered paper ones.

Also, do you have any 4 colour decks there?

We'll have Modiano in stock next week - a bit cheaper than copag @ 6.50 / deck €65 / Dozen) or go for the Bicycles and see if they last a reasonable amount of time.

Also, the store will be undergoing a major change soon - making it a bit bigger and changing the name to Giftmaster.ie (same as our gift site) reducing candles to 40% of the store and bringing in a tange of other products and a much expanded range of Poker.

All going well, this should be completed in early Feb.

    - 4 colour cards - very little market for them, so i don't bother.
