Looking for help. Canon 50d

My old laptop is now beyond help. Using my sons laptop now but need help. I cannot find the software disc for my 50d and can't get the 400 plus photos off the camera onto the laptop. Tried the Canon website to see if I could download the software but there are so many different downloads I am getting so confused. (Computer novice) Anyone help me? Do you know where to get the download on the net?
Any help much appreciated.

Just change the operating system in the dropdown menu if needed

you don't even need the software. Just plug the camera into the laptop via USB and then go to windows explorer where you will see a new drive. This is your camera's storage card, just copy the images from its folder to your computer.

Plus most photo software (I imagine even flickr uploadr and it's kindred software packages) would detect the camera anyway and allow you to upload from there without any copying to your hdd

Might need the RAW codec though(well if raw is used anyway)

they dont let you install any of the software unless you have the original disk, those downloads are mostly updates.
