Shall we hazard a guess at the make and model lads?

My guess is a Lada Riva, or a Fiat Cinquento.

    Trooper, Isuzu methinks
Haven't a clue about the button though.
Did you try googling the manual OP? Or interior pics?

You can try http://www.edmunds.com/ownership/howto/articles/120189/article.html How To Find Your Car Owner's Manual Online
    Not free though.

    Self-Destruct-Button.jpg

Seriously, the red button could be the hardard lights switch and the up/down buttons could be for hill descent/ascent control.

it's a warm up button. it's on their trucks too. it doesn't increase the rpm like on most jeeps. it's something like a bypass for the turbo, it makes a whooshing noise when it's on. it's an exhaust flap or something.
I heard they stick on the 3.1 so best not to use it unless you have to.

The other button is probably for raising/lowering the electric aeriel.

Was driving a Trooper this week and the latter button is certainly for the ariel. That said, I was puzzled by the former button - warm up you say?

button one is engine warm. no point having it on even in this climate.

button two is areial up/down. they give a a lot of hassle. the problem is they are not ignition powered so if the motor thinks the antena is not up it keeps sending power to it (bye bye battery).

the warm up is handy if actually needed.... but its not for us anyways obviously.

areials don't give any bother at all :| ( mate with a 97 and 01 troopers, both well into 300k miles each, not a lick of trouble )
