Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Windows 7 64-bit - lots of updates regularly

    Hi,

i have a windows 7 machine about 3 days and i've noticed that every time i turn it on there are 2 - 5 updates, some security related others suggestions. I install all the security updates but low and behold, every time i turn on the machine there seems to be a fresh batch of updates.

Is this common? I think i've installed 10 updates, maybe 3 a day for the past 3 days. Seems a bit much.

    Thanks.

These would be updates that have been released since Window 7 went to the OEMs.

As for more and more updates; some updates depend on others, so you may find, as you install one thing, three more may appear. This is normal and will die down after a few days.

If you want, you can keep searching for new updates after each install.

Microsoft only releases updates once a month, without fail, on the second Tuesday of every month.

What you're seeing is probably definition updates for Security Essentials.

Doubt it, it runs in the back ground and doesn't ever tell me to update!

Its more than likely the updates that were realeased after RTM as someone said then when you download a update it triggers a new one, as sometimes it needs a few updates to get to the latest update.
