Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

hey boarders, a friend of mine spilt kerosene in his boot on Monday i think. The smell from it is terriable, any tips for getting rid of the smell? he took the carpets out and let them " air" already with no joy.

What a strange name to a thread.
What if he took them out and washed them instead of airing them?

Spill a pint of milk in the boot, after a few days you wont smell the kerosene. :D

Take the carpets out and put fairy liquid on them and a little water.
Scrub away til your knuckles are raw.
Rinse and repeat until they are clean.
    Hang to dry and refit.
They will probably still smell a little but if you wash the kero out then they won't smell as bad.
Kero is a light oil thats why you need detergent to wash it out.

Peel a dozen raw onions, and leave them in the boot for a few days.

Couldn't hurt to sprinkle a load of bread soda around (sodium bicarbonate). It will absorb a lot of the odour. Vacuum and repeat.

    Not your ornery onager
