11.30am here in Dundalk and the thermo was reading -2.4C.
Been showing 1.1C and rising since about 1pm. That's 1/2 mile from the coast. We had our coldest point last night here too...-5.8C
No snow here and with the way the frost is disappearing from the roofs and the grass, anything we get whether snow or not, isn't going to stick. Another non event in the north east :|

Pouring rain here, temp 0.4°C and dewpoint -0.6°C, should be lashing snow ! Faux cold.

Have a weather station?, why not join the Ireland Weather Network - http://irelandweather.eu/

raining here still, frost going fast, its already 8C in the southwest, I suspect this will spread nationwide over the next few hours.

I wonder what the record for the biggest temp difference for one day at the same place is ? Could be some places near -10 this morning and near +10 this afternoon

West Limerick - Sun now shining, occasional heavy showers some of hail, thaw is well on Roadsides are still dangerous, so don't be tempted to increase speed too much even though centre is clear.
There is a bite in the wind from a south west direction.

Net Zero means we are paying for the destruction of our economy and society in pursuit of an unachievable and pointless policy.

Can no longer see the ice on the driveway now. However from my experience a couple of nights ago, that doesn't necessarily mean it's actually gone.

Big puddles in Dublin. Still interspersed with ice. Takes a lot to thaw the middle of the driveway. Still a fair bit of white frost on the grass.

Snow started some 15 minutes ago. Big flakes and some icy pellets. The sky is dark and heavy..

Something rather rare about eating Christmas dinner by lamplight in front of a good fire with a white landscape and snow falling...

    Totally impecunious also!
    yes.
    2 brothers own them.

Warning to folks out walking in the rain.

    Don't be fooled.

It is extremely icy out there even when it doesnt look it.

The rain is forming sheets of ice on the ground and its lethal.

    ME lunchtime

Outbreaks of rain, sleet and snow will continue to push eastwards this afternoon and early evening, with some falls of snow across parts of Ulster, north Connacht and north Leinster. A clearance will develop across the southwest, extending to all areas later this evening. Highest temperatures of just 1 to 3 degrees across the northern half of the country, (where frost may be slow to clear) and 3 to 7 degrees elsewhere. Light to moderate southeasterly winds will later veer southwesterly.
    Tonight

Becoming mostly dry tonight with long clear spells. However some showers will affect affecting western and northern counties, a few of which will be wintry. A slight to sharp frost will develop. Not as cold as recent nights, with lowest temperatures minus 3 to plus 2 degrees, coldest across Ulster.
