Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

anyone ever come across an issue where you can't wind on; it seems (to my inexpert eyes) that the mechanism which unlocks the winder when the shutter is tripped isn't working perfectly, and it can be a few minutes before i can wind on again?

500cm, in otherwise good nick. doesn't seem to be a problem with the back, the issue occurs with the back off too.

It sounds like the infamous Hassey-jam, or what's about about to become the infamous Hassey-jam. Mine usually does that 2 or 3 times before jamming up altogether.

It feiced up mine proper a while ago, took a good 2 weeks of fiddling to fix it. It was the first time it'd jammed on me, now, I can get her back going again quite easily.

    That's an alterative one.

If you don't want to buy a second hand Hasselblad screwdriver/unjamming yoke, get a good fit of screwdriver and fit some tubing over the end, and melt it on, otherwise, you'll scratch the inside of the camera no end, or worse still, slip it, and end up with a screwdriver in the rear element.

interesting - just tried to take the lens off (which i haven't tried in a while) and it seems a bit too happy where it is...

i suspect a spring may be gone - the rear curtain doesn't open fully when i trip the shutter. a trip to the camera repair man for me...

Have you just noticed now or seen it in a print?

    Is it the bottom flap?

i misread the situation; the rear curtain opens in preparation to fire the main shutter. it partially opens, and you have to jiggle the winder a bit to get the curtain to open fully, and once it does, eventually the shutter fires. which basically makes the camera unusable, as you really don't want to have to fire the shutter by jiggling the camera.

Sh*tbuzz... That doesn't sound fun - Do you know any repair guys in Dublin? I'd one recommended to me on APUG the first time my Hassey jammed up.

At least your glass is working without a problem, right?

i used the guy up in portobello to redo the seals on the back a few years ago, which he did a grand job of (and relubed it too, which it badly needed), but i understand they're no longer there?
    the lens seems fine.

at least i have the rolleiflex to keep me going in 120 for now. the lens is not as crisp as the one on the hasselblad, though.
i must drop that in for a service too though, i suspect it hasn't been serviced in a decade.

Afaik, the chap in Portobello is gone for about 2 years - I've PM'd you a number I was recommended for my own gear though.

Hopefully it won't cost too much to repair ...

got the patients back from the camera hospital. €90 for the lot - €45 for the OM lens, €45 for the hasselblad, with a six month warranty on the work.

What camera hospital did you end up using?

Have a couple of Hasselblads... no problems to-date (touch wood) but always useful to know where one can go for help.

    Cheers
