Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Does ice damage paint?
Removing it might, just don't use a hammer and chisel. :D

Usually quite the opposite. There would be more Audis, but you know, they are out driving in the snow.. :pac:

Now that is video worthy!!

I actually did get a rather funny video of a guy in a bit of a skangermobile trying to get up it in the ice. The noise of the engine and exhaust sounded like the world was ending! The only thing is the reg plate is very visible so I don't think I'll post it up here :D

Please do post it up here :)

If the reg is visible in public on a public road, free for everybody to see, there's no reason to block it out on the internetz tbh.

Or just scribble over the reg in paint :)

    Love the snowy micra.

As for hurlerontheditch's problem with the handbrake. I'd check that
out, sometimes the rear shoes liners can split and come loose
lodging solid within the drum, car becomes stuck(happened to the wifes
car last year because of the cold wet weather).
Just a matter of gettin the back wheel drum covers off and making sure
everthing is working/moving as it should.

Thanks muckie, i have rear discs though, alfa 147 1.6?

Just wait til it defrosts? or is there something else i can do?

Quality isn't so great as I've cropped the first two of these photos quite a bit! First one is new years eve at night time

    100535.JPG

Second is the following morning, our housing estate was covered in snow.

    100536.JPG

I was really quite surprised to find even the M4 covered in snow! Luckily the snow was no match for my 4wd :D

    100537.JPG

Wifey took M4 picture from passenger seat, just in case anyone was wondering did I take that picture while driving!

Some of my girls decided to sabotage my wife's car. It has been christened the Golfcicle. Its their version of installation art for the driveway.

Did you throw water over it to get that effect? Probably not the brightest idea.Still cool pics though :D

They threw many kettle and pot fulls of water over the car. I didn't have the heart to give out to them as they got such a laugh. They think the car will be frozen for a week so they won't have a lift to school.

The poor darlings forgot I'm off for a few weeks so their cunning plan was very Baldrickish.

That water is going to get into every nook and cranny, freeze and expand.I normally throw luke warm water over the windscreen in the mornings but with the recent extra cold weather we are having and when i saw icicles on the car i decided that was no longer a good idea - i just use a scrapper now.

Green Freelander is what's keeping me going in the current conditions. I'd only been parked about 10 mins - was out and about when the worst hit.

Almera next to it is our finance guy's and had been sat there all morning. Photo taken around 14.00 yesterday in South Dublin.

Sierras are a really proper Ford...Cousin has an 2.0L one & he would not take it out in the snow even though it's 4WD.

You know its cold when its that temperature here in Louth, 500 metres from the sea. It hasn't dipped below -2 here the entire cold snap, its only starting to get bad the last few days. This was 30 minutes ago.
