Galway - Cavan road

Travelling this route tomorrow via Athlone so would just like to know what the roads are like. Probably a bit of a longshot seeing as it's christmas day and most don't travel but thought I'd try anyway Galway- Athone should be ok but Athlone - Cavan probably the potential of being icier/ not treated.

Did this journey yesterday and it was grand.. Reports that it's been raining since though and this is turning to ice so check the news.
