I'd be very very surprised to see Pixies and Weezer play. I imagine they'd command a large chunk of change to get them.

Well they've just had a new album out, haven't played over here yet and plus they're amazing. It's very wishful thinking at this moment in time though.

They played Dublin 2 year or 3 years ago? I remember being sick that i could not see them

    I'd regard €250 x 70,000 as quite a large chunk of change!

EP is nowhere near 70,000. i think its around 30,000, no more than 40,000 anyways.

    Did i say 70,000? I meant 100,000.

Stop being silly and don't respond with further silliness consider this a warning. Also thanking this post would be extremely silly.

What time is the announcement at ????

45,000 tickets last year. That works out at around 860,000 euros give or take on ticket sale alone. I say they blow it all on bringing back Jimi Hendrix for a day.

According to on the record it's at lunchtime. Is it just me or is the sense of anticipation missing this year? There doesn't seem to be as much excitement about it. Unless the line up is something special I can't see it selling out until the last minute again.
Anyway, here's hoping for a few nice surprises.

Thanks Van. Think they need to pull something very special out of the bag this year... this website is spot on

why does the Electric Picnic official website not have anything up and 2fm get it out before them?

  • Registered Users Posts: 80 ✭✭endac1

Dunno if all these were mentioned above.

ROXY MUSIC; LEFTFIELD; MASSIVE ATTACK; LCD SOUNDSYSTEM; THE FRAMES; PUBLIC IMAGE LTD; THE NATIONAL; IMELDA MAY; MUMFORD & SONS
SEASICK STEVE; MODEST MOUSE; HOT CHIP; GIL SCOTT-HERON; FEVER RAY; JONSI (SIGUR ROS); FAT FREDDY’S DROP; BAD LIEUTENANT
CRYSTAL CASTLES; AFRO CELT SOUNDSYSTEM; BOOKA SHADE; BLOODY BEETROOTS DEATH CREW77; STEVE EARLE; THE WATERBOYS

Fever Ray and the National are almost enough for me to buy a ticket alone.

Its called promotion. 2fm offer a solid national promotional base so EP give them an exclusive. Its how things work.

I reckon its the weakest Electric Picnic lineup ever. I really hope they pull some more big names out of the bag.
