Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

This should be a very exciting game, both teams look very strong on paper, both have something to prove and are on form.

    C'mon you Gooners!

    Some miss from Eduardo.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,570 ✭✭✭✭Frisbee

Feck sake Eduardo, I don't think he's ever going to be the same again, can you imagine Eduardo of two years ago missing that?

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 22,879 Mod ✭✭✭✭Bounty Hunter

    very poor from Eduardo

Are Villa playing 4-5-1 with Agbonlohar the lone striker??

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 23,316 ✭✭✭✭amacachi

Arsenal all over the place at the back. Thought that deflected shot was in.

    Eduardo so slow.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,570 ✭✭✭✭Frisbee

Gallas is going to give away a penalty, I can sense it.

Also, anyone want to buy Eduardo in January. Do you good price, cheap cheap

    I want him.

Gallas looking dodgy when he goes up. As if he can't get back intime. Like watching silvestre a few weeks ago

Villa playing really well, i think. Soaking up the Arsenal attacks, getting the tackles in and they look dangerous on the break.

Can definately see Villa scoring in this match!!

    Arshavin is playing?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 23,316 ✭✭✭✭amacachi

Great commentary on Sky. A replay of a tackle by Song which led to a free kick "Yeah he's led with his foot there...". ****in hell.

I know from bitter experience that sometimes he doesn't need to play. Just walk around for the match, not bringing much attention on himself, half a chance is sometimes all that litte rascal needs and it's finger to the lips time

    Not great so far tbh.

What a terrible free kick. Villa doing very well at the moment. Arsenal look a little bewildered as to what to do with the ball sometimes.

Yup, and he usually does it after I have complained about him being anonymous... :D

He's gonna whack one in from thirty yards, so!!!!! :)

I think the way Villa are defending that it may need something special for Arsenal to score!!

Poor first half really. Arsenal really should be up 1-0. Villa look good today and I think they might just sneak a goal.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,369 ✭✭✭✭SlickRic

arsenal look a bit lost in the final third.

villa look very happy to contain and use Gabby's pace on the counter.

    predictable fair really.

Great game of football imo, real end to end stuff.

0-0 is a fair HT scoreline imo, Arsenal dominated the first and last 10 minutes of the half and Villa were by far the better team in between.

Tired legs will lead to lots of space for the likes of Young, Agbonlahor, Downing, Arshavin, Nasri in the second half.

Would like to see Eduardo off and Vela on.

Think we could catch Arsenal on a counter, looks our best bet so far

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,692 ✭✭✭✭OPENROAD

Just the Eduardo chance really, Arsenal with most of the ball, think we might see Cesc early in the szecond half.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,660 ✭✭✭SDTimeout

Hope we see Cesc in soon, But diaby and denilson have both been good.

Walcott from 75+ as the tired legs will play to his advantage.

Villa soaking up the pressure well alright. Think the Arsenal backline is handling with ease Villa going forward.

Enjoying this game, think it's a good battle so far. Diaby has been excellent again I reckon.

Agreed. It's not exactly the type of game that will be making the SKY sports Super Sunday highlight reel anytime soon, but it's been a very evenly matched game with loads of chances. Defensively, neither side have been fantastic, particularly whenn it comes to the marking, looking for the counter a bit too much imo, but enough to keep out the opposition.

Eduardo again looking off the pace, and Diaby controlling the game from Arsenal's p.o.v. Unfair to pick on Arshavin, he's actually been doing a lot of running, the midfielders just haven't been able to pick him out because Villa are shutting out the usual through balls Arsenal look for.

While Arsenal will miss Song though, I've been pretty happy with Denilson so far today. Song has fallen asleep at times and Denilson has been quick to drop behind him. Denilson, Diaby and Cesc should still be formidable (as long as Diaby turns up).

Surprised at the criticism of Gallas though, I know he's quick to go forward, but he's looked very good today but defensively and offensively imo.

Villa are 11/2 on Bet365 to win 1-0. I think i might stick a tenner on it!!

Decent enough odds actually. I think one goal will actually win this game and I think Villa have a bit better quality in going forward.

Could see Song going off, if he continues to be reckless in the challenge
The Ref has had a decent game so far
