Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hull_city_415010a.jpg V manchesterunited.jpg

    Sunday 27th December
    KC Stadium, Hull
    Sky Sports 1

Hull City v Manchester United, 4pm

Hull expect to have Nick Barmby available for the visit of champions Manchester United. He has not trained this week after suffering a calf injury during last weekend's defeat at Arsenal but should be fit.

Sir Alex Ferguson is ready to recall Fabio and Rafael Da Silva after their absence with shoulder problems. He is also hoping that either Wes Brown, who has been out with a hamstring injury, or Nemanja Vidic, who has hurt his thigh, will be able to play in central defence.

Hull (from): Myhill, McShane, Zayatte, Gardner, Dawson, Garcia, Barmby, Boateng, Hunt, Fagan, Geovanni, Mouyokolo, Mendy, Kilbane, Marney, Cairney, Olofinjana, Ghilas, Cousin, Altidore, Vennegoor of Hesselink, Duke.

Manchester United (from): Kuszczak, Foster, Rafael, De Laet, Vidic, Brown, Evra, Fabio, Valencia, Park, Carrick, Fletcher, Scholes, Anderson, Gibson, Giggs, Obertan, Rooney, Berbatov, Owen, Welbeck, Tosic.

ill go for a formation of this

    pig
    raf---de laet----vidic
    evra
    valenica---fletch
    ando----giggs
    berba/owen----Rooney

Iv a feeling vidic will make it for the hull game

hopefully fletch will be in the CM again, we miss him badly there

This is whats most important for us to get back to the way we were playing. Im not sure Berba will play - if the rumours of him being injured are true (it was also reported in the Bulgarian press before The Sun ran with it), so it looks like Owen might get an extended run in the first team for now.

Yup. Ill explain in the United thread so as not to drag this off topic. ;)

fletcher plays in midfield, you'll be fine.

if not, it could be a fight, even against hull.

anderson would need to up his game 3 fold at least so that Carrick/Scholes can get the chance to dictate. if not Hull could harass them into a difficult afternoon.

    fletch in midfield - 0-3
fletch not in midfield - 1-2.

either way, utd win for me so.

    I see a 1-1. 1-2 if we are lucky.

United to win 0-2 hopefully. Fletcher and Rooney to score. Would be great to close the gap on Chelsea. We have a great run of about 5 games starting today where we should be getting close to maximum points.

    ill go for 0-3 utd

    Rooney Hatrick please

0-5 to United have a feeling they will smash Hull up. If we don't sign anyone in January I think with United getting key defenders back they will go on a big run of wins and with the way we are playing we will get left behind. We really miss Anelka and Essien. Aguero pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeee. :)

Utd maybe short at the back but Hull are really poor in nearly every position...i would expect Utd to smash them up.

    I'll go for

    Hull 0 - 4 ManUtd

If Berba isn't fit I can see SAF going 4-3-3 or 4-5-1 and leaving Owen on the bench. Then again it is Hull (no disrespect) so Owen could get a start.

Really looking forward to the game! Hopefully we can win it with a bit of style!

    PIG

    Raf
    Brown
    Vidic
    Evra

    Valencia
    Fletcher
    Carrick
    Giggs

    Berbatov
    Rooney

Subs: Foster, Welbeck, De Laet, Owen, Park, Fabio, Obertan

Basically a first choice United side - NO excuses today, can't really expect more in that United side - Maybe O'Shea at RB or Evans/Rio in the centre, but that side is very strong. Hopefully they are all sharp.

    Vidic and Brown are starting.

That makes one feel far safer.

F**king get in! Superb team, with two up front, a back four comprised entirely of defenders, and a strong midfield; this has to be a win.

Hull team: Myhill, Mendy, Gardner, Zayatte, Dawson, Garcia, Boateng, Olofinjana, Hunt, Altidore, Fagan.

    Bollocks. No McShane. :(

I'm still worried, but I am a pessimist. Just hope the team we have put out is sharp, and will perform like they can/should.

    i understand.

i think fletcher is absolutely vital today; given the fact he should definitely be match sharp.

as long as he can patrol that midfield, at least matching Hull's midfield for workrate, and allow Carrick to dictate, then logically there should be little trouble.

for hull to have any chance, i think altidore and fagan will be key with their strength and bustling nature maybe unsettling a quite not match sharp United defence.

i still foresee a comfortable United victory. a Bullard-less Hull is a Championship quality team imo.

Sky with the bizarre build-up again. Phil Brown doing what looked like a party political broadcast and then a hospital-themed montage of our recent injuries. Any chance of talking about the football lads?

Redknapp just summed up Berba quite nicely.

"For £30m I would have expected a whole lot more"

    Spot on.

Sir Alex with his beautifully patronising "Well done Geoff" at the end of the interview. :D

Why is his price tag always used against him? It's not his fault how much money was paid for him. It was an inflated price due to city's late entry to the market.

We're a better team with him in it, stop quoting his bloody price, and stop quoting Jamie bloody Redknapp.

He always does that. Good to see Brown and Vidic back and playing with 2 up front!

Its a shame (for us) that McShane isn't playing.

The United team looks as strong as it has been for a good while.

I'm hoping all the defenders get through this game unscathed.

    it is important enough imo.

even though i agree with you that you're a better team with him in it.

but i'll remember the above line in other threads about other teams. ;)
