Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I'd have to watch it replayed to be 100% on it, but simply running through doesn't mean you're ending up in a scoring position. Rooney stalled his run slightly. I don't think it's fair to blame Berba for everything.

It's Manchester United, you're not supposed to give penos against them. That ref surely isn't fit enough!:)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,625 ✭✭✭✭Johner

Was a tough angle for the ref but it was a pen. Tough to call it though I suppose.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,493 ✭✭✭eddiehead

It looked like Brown won the ball but looking at the replay he clearly didn't, it was a peno but I can understand why it wasn't given, impossible to call in real time.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,012 ✭✭✭✭eagle eye

This big four bias from referees is really starting to annoy me. Hunt taken out, and then Brown clearly gives away a penalty and nothing done over either of them by the referee.
    Its disgraceful.

He got none of the ball. The striker touched it to the side making it look like it was Brown who did it.

Stonewall peno but understandable why Wiley didn't give it given the direction the touch went.

lol any see the defender going round in circles before he realised that the ball was played forward to rooney there?he thought his team mate won it

the sharp change of direction by the ball made it look like brown got a foot to it. really hard to give the pen after it looked like that happened imo.

fully blind if you think he got the ball, he didn't. Tough one for the ref as the ball did go in the direction you would expect if he had got it, but the camera angle from the refs general direction clearly showed he didn't.

Im not blaming him or having a go - just think the way he plays is a little to different to what the team was doing before him and rooney is not used to playing with someone like him in the team. - Im sure they will gell at some point and be unstopable

also, I really liked him when he was at spurs

    brown with a dodgy tackle.

boateng and olijfiana doing quite well for Hull.

    fairly competitive game.

giggs, berba and rooney are pretty lively too. especially giggs.

Let's be fair, we've had rotten luck with referee's decisions going against us this season. It's about time we get some luck.

*awaits "6 mins against city!" response*

Im not saying he's a bad player, far from it - but uniteds style at the time he was signed - with Ronaldo & Rooney was really thrown off by bringing him into the team and the team was nowhere near as effective with him in it.

Just now rooney wins the ball sprints forward, berbatov walking forward offering no support or options to him what so ever- sums up what i was saying really....

Yea, to some extent I agree with you about last season. The team had been built around Ronaldo and the counter attacking football they played was fantastic. But Ferguson knew he was off to Real at some point so the point off attack had to change.

Exactly, I can't understand how people do not realise this.
Yeah but as was pointed out it wasn't Berba who decided the price tag.
How is this Berba's fault? If, for some crazy reason, we bought Messi for £200m would you be saying he doesn't do enough for his price? The incessant Berba-bashing is getting tiring.

Replied to this in the United thread.

I get what you mean, although that particular attack fell apart because of the way Rooney won the ball more than anything, his head was down, by the time he looked up to pick someone out it was too late.

Passing in general has been poor, its a open game, but it seems to be because there are so many misplaced passes

He didn't get close to the ball.

He got close but didn't get the ball, it was a pen, but not a clear (easy to see) one without the benefit of slow motion replay.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 677 ✭✭✭Feeky Magee

No I'm not blind, like Mr. Wiley I thought Brown had got the ball, it was only clear he hadn't after the third replay, so can't blame the ref.

Bias against United from refs? They've murdered us this year, about time we got a call.

    Good save PIG.
