Villa have always been a good squad so I don't think they're surprising overachievers.

I think its arguably as big an achievement to break into the top four (which I think they will) as managing mid table with a squad of mediocre players. The second half of the season will be very telling for both sides and while I don't expect Villa to slow down I don't see Birmingham replicating the form of the first half of the season.

FWIW This is in respect to how I think things will look at the end of the season, If we were referring to right now I would say Birmingham alright.

cant see City sacking two managers in same season to be honest. I think they have a decent enough midfield but defence still a worry. Wouldn't be surprised if Given wins their player of year. Terrific save yesterday. Would just give him the nod ahead of Reina as goalkeeper of the noughties.
