Rumors are that apple will be updating the macbook pro range in janurary, may be worth holding on.

Apple don't really do sales on their computer lines. But check out the refurb store on the online site - some good deals there. Waiting for the refresh is a good idea. Once the newer models are out the older refurbished models will be even cheaper.

i'll sit tight then, also contemplating a dell, this is to replace my current dell laptop which is getting a little physically shook...the dell studios look powerfull for the money compared to the macs..
