You beat me by 1 minute. Giants have had a TD called back. then Manningham fumbles ball after having enough yardage for first down  Must hold onto the ball

Some fumble by Maroney, all the way down the field and drops it on the 1 yard line. Not his first fumble this year

ARGHHH!!! Frustrating start! Great route by Smith on that called back TD thought.

Panthers drive down the field to get FG

    3-0 Carolina

Just from watching Carolina the last two weeks I am beginning to think they would be a playoff team if Matt Moore had been the QB all year instead of Delhomme. They have a great running game, a solid defense and a big play guy in Smith but were getting nothing out of the QB position. Im not saying Matt Moore is a pro bowler or anything but I think he gives them more than Delhomme did this season.

    Giants 3 and out

big defensive stand coming up for Giants as you don't want Panthers getting out to big lead as well as getting ball in second half

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,052 ✭✭✭KrustyUCC

Dockery on Steve Smith is a terrible terrible match up even when officials give Smith a handy call

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,052 ✭✭✭KrustyUCC

    TD Carolina

    10-0

getting really bad feeling about this game

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 873 ✭✭✭InKonspikuou2

    Steelers 13 - 3 up now. 2 fg's and just got a td.

Yup. looks like a microcosm of our season. Just not quiet good enough.

Even if we don't make the playoffs I really want them to win this game to send the old place out in the right way.

i agree with commentary. for team that needs to win to get into playoffs Giants don't seem up for it. They need a big stop here or the fat lady will be tuning up. The last drive should have been stopped by Dockery but he let Smith by. terrible tackling as usual :(

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,052 ✭✭✭KrustyUCC

fat lady tuning up 17-0 Panthers.

Embarrassing half. Our secondary couldn't handle Pee Wee players

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 873 ✭✭✭InKonspikuou2

Ravens force the turnover only for the Steelers to get it straight back. 13-10 now after Raven's TD.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,052 ✭✭✭KrustyUCC

FFS 24-0 Carolina. Plus they get the ball to start second half. so much for a team fighting to get into playoffs

Well im depressed. This is starting to remind me of the Miami Hurricanes last game at the Orange bowl were they got blown out 48-0 by Virginia. We are half way there and look just as pathetic.

The Cowboys lose to close Texas Stadium.

The Eagles lose to close the Vet.

The Giants look certain to lose to close Giants Stadium.

A bit of an NFC east tradition it seems, although the Redskins did win their last game at RFK.

Impressive drive from the steelers right from their own goal line which results in a touchdown. Roethlisberger has really stepped up in the last few minutes of the second. 20-10 now Steelers.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,448 ✭✭✭evil_seed

joe cool looks scared of the steelers right now. not good at all.

Frank Walker must be the worst cornerback in the NFL :(

    Come on Ravens!

Three teams fighting for their playoff lives are getting blow out at half time. The Giants, Jags and Dolphins.

    Jags 0 -28 Pats :(

yup surprising that teams with so much to play for are playing so poorly

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 306 ✭✭Hynzie

    31-0 panthers.

    Im sick to my stomach.

    Giants on the board

    3-31 with 7:44 left in 3rd

Need quick stop not that offense looks capable of getting big plays if they get the ball

what was that throw by Eli on third down?!! poor stuff.

terrible terrible stuff. think that we will see big changes in off season. both co-ordinators should be gone as well as almost entire secondary. truth being told TC has to take a large share of blame as he didn't do anything to stop the rot until the Dallas return game

Sheridan will be gone but I think Gilbride will remain. Obviously injuries have crippled our secondary with Ross and Phillips being out almost the whole year. But injuries are part of the game so I think we need to upgrade the players behind them especially the safeties. I don't want any more C.C. Brown or Aaron Rouse! My biggest concern with the defense is what happened to the pass rush which was supposedly upgraded in the off season? Is this down to the change in coaching and scheme? I think so.

Nice catch by Smith on that TD there but its far too little far too late.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,448 ✭✭✭evil_seed

mason drops the easiest catch of his career. ravens will end up beating themselves with stupid penalties, but i hope not

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 19,986 ✭✭✭✭mikemac

And a time out taken to avoid delay of game.

The Steelers may win this game....but because the Ravens are doing their best to lose it it seems :(

Sweet. Packers strolling to the play-offs now.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,448 ✭✭✭evil_seed

miami are killing my bet this week :(

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 873 ✭✭✭InKonspikuou2

Ravens are giving the Steelers every opportunity to make it to another week to determine their fate. Between dropping easy passes and penalties they may beat themselves.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 873 ✭✭✭InKonspikuou2

Flacco sacked again after the Steelers put 3 on the board. Goes for a play on 4th and is picked after a fumble. 2:19 left on the clock with the Ravens down by 3. Looking like this could be a Steeler victory here.

    Steelers win 23-20

any links for the jets game? Thanks in advance

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 19,986 ✭✭✭✭mikemac

The Steelers may have won but the Ravens handed it to them

The Ravens threw that game away from lack of discipline and 11 penalties.
    Entirely needless. :mad::mad::mad:

Bucs beating the Saints. Now there is a shocker.
NFC play-off picture is rather interesting, not really the race to the play-offs, that is all but decided.
I think all 6 teams have a legitimate chance of reaching the Superbowl, this is especially true consider Minnesota and New Orleans are going into a bit of a freefall. The momentum is not with them at all. Some really exciting match-ups to come.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,280 ✭✭✭Bukman13

So NYG blew it, and now need a miracle!!!

If the Eagles can win tonight it will put a bit of pressure on the Vikings for home field advantage. Eagles 20-7 up at HT. Shall be interesting to see how the Vikings do against the Bears given there recent slip ups, although I expect them to win.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,646 ✭✭✭cooker3

Colts bench Manning. New QB fumbles and Jets score a touchdown.
I really hope the Jets beat them. They don't deserve to go 16-0.
I hate this crap of benching people. Go for history imo.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,172 ✭✭✭✭kmart6

Why don't they deserve it exactly?!

Because they bench a guy who has historically a 0.000000000001% chance of being injured, and in doing so give up a chance at being the greatest team of all time. I hate this benching **** especially with a guy who NEVER gets hit

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,646 ✭✭✭cooker3

Well for a start they are going to lose to the jets :)
But I just think you go for it. They didn't have the balls to go for it so don't deserve to get it.

As for the bigger picture argument.
Who won the Superbowl in 1983 season?
Who won the Superbowl from 1972 season?
    Which did you get faster?

Becoming the greatest team ever is better then becoming the best team of a year.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 873 ✭✭✭InKonspikuou2

If i was a Colts fan i'd be pissed. Especially if i bought a ticket to see it. They have essentially given up in this game. 29-15 at the 2 minute warning and the Jets are gonna win this.

When you get this far i think you need to have the balls to go for the win without benching your star qb.

Hold on, your saying they don't deserve to go 16-0 it because they're losing to the Jets(even though they were winning 15-10 until they pulled Peyton)?!

Does that mean the Patriots didn't deserve to go 16-0 when they were trailing to the Giants in the season finale two years ago?!

You don't spit in the face of history. What hurts so much is that it doesn't look like we're trying to rest players, it doesn't look like we're trying to play logically, it doesn't look like we're not worried "losing momentum", it just looks like we don't have the stomach for it.
If Manning and the rest of the uninjured players had played this game properly they'd have won it, and we'd have won next week, and we'd deserve 16-0 then. We certainly don't now. Cowardly.
I will say this: it's win a Superbowl or heads will roll time in Indy. This could be the worst decision in the history of the NFL. Disgusted.

Who DIDN'T win the Superbowl in 2007 season?
    Which did you get faster?
That's how memorable a perfect season is.

No they don't deserve it because they didn't go for it.

The losing to jets comment was me being delighted. If they had won it after dropping Peyton and few other starters I still would have said they don't deserve it for above reason.

    Peyton is pissed as well.

Well to say they don't deserve it after today is pointless because they had lost anyway, so it's not valid!

Explain how they didn't play the game properly?!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,483 ✭✭✭Arthur Daley

I'm not a fan of the business of resting your players either. Especially when an nfl season is so short for professional athletes in my opinion.

The real deal and has been for a while now is can the Colts come out firing on 16th/17th January in the divisional game. No point going 16-0 regular season and not turning up in January. Too many bad memories of Colts bottling it in the first game of the playoffs, especially the last two years against San Diego.
