The boards forecast was really for tomorrow and theres probably already been more snow than ME were forecasting yesterday evening for the whole band, so I'd say it's early days, still 0-0 with Boards having the better of the early exchanges.

The title of the thread says December 29th + 30th!! :) And 99% of snow reports are on higher ground, as they predicted!

to my surprise its very very wet snow here in SE Mayo. Just went to call the cats in and its 75/25% snow/rain. The surprise being the air temp has increased since this afternoon to 2.1c.

1.7c here Snaps, and still 100% light, pointless rain. :(

I just posted a few photos from TIPP TOWN in the weather pictures thread. The quality isn't great as it is still flogging snow here.

Well i can tell you its been hammering down with rain here with no sign of it letting up. The more likely cause of disruption now will be flooding i think.

It seems to be less accurate at moment.
    Blue is 0.1-0.5mm hour.
Casement reported 2.2mm 1900-2000 which would be at least yellow and it stayed blue the whole time.

great pics of the snow in Tipp town and thats not high ground I assume!

meanwhile here it's lashing rain and the temps on the rise at 3.6c

    Academic really.
patience is a virtue seldom in a boardsie snow fan.

Tends to overdo intensity. Best bet is to find a middle ground between the two.

This reminds me of a horse following a carrot on a stick, it seems this illusive snow event is always just a few days off, then, when we get to those days.....nope....its another few days off.....and another few......etc etc :p Damn my low level!! :(

Temps going up here since afternoon, now 3.4c and DP of 2cm

Still snowing here in West Limerick at 120m asl.

Be very interesting to see if we get another hour of this. Traffic is not particularly slow at the moment but I expect this to change overnight if it freezes.

No idea of the temperature outside but when I poke my nose down to the main road after the Met Eireann weather forecast after the RTE 1 9pm news I will have a look in the car and see what it indicates. Don't think it will be too low. It read 2 deg C this afternoon and last time I was outside it didn't seem to have gotten any colder than it was.

Hope the snow will still be on the ground in the morning :D
