Buying a wireless repeater in Cork/Changing Eircom router?

I recently got a new iPod touch and my eircom supplied wireless routers wireless signal strenght is laughable there's barely any signal upstairs. Idealy I'd prefer to buy a wireless repeater as I'm lazy and I don't want spend time changing the router but as I can't find a wireless repeater anywhere in Cork so if anyone…

And so when I get a new one I assume there'll be no issue changing it from the old nepotia router to a new stronger one?
