Pot Awarded To Wrong Person

What's the ruling where the board has been misread (including by the winning player) and after a showdown on the river the pot is awarded to the wrong person by the dealer?

Can it be then given to the correct (winning) player? At what point is it too late to rectify the error, if it can be rectified at all?

    Tks
    :D

Its too late once the dealer rifles for the next hand.

But before that is it standard for the error to be put right?

It is standard that the best hand gets the pot almost 100% the time. In this instance the best hand definately gets the pot. It's also standard to give the dealer a KITN for not doing his job properly and making sure the pot went to the right person in the first place.
As stated above, first riffle is the point where nothing can be changed, so speak up fast if you think there is a problem!

Yes, as long as cards have on their backs.

It is best to ask Sepp Blatter for a ruling in this case.
