Santa bought me a big fancy food processor for christmas but it doesnt work.

took it out of the package yesterday, turned it on and nothing - no power, was afraid to check the fuse in case this invalidated the returns policy

will i be entitled to a new machine or will they have to send it away to kenwood to be repaired?

    thanks

Not trying to be mean, but are sure that it is not working? For example ensure that the Lid is on correctly. Many do not work unless the unit is assembled correctly. Some machines are tricky the first time you use them. Check the instructions in case there are details here.

Unfortunately you are not entitled to a new machine. The store may choose to send the machine off to Kenwood to have it checked out and repaired.

Sometimes a store may decide to take it back and give you a new one instead, but if they do this it is a bonus! and not your legal right.

Strictly speaking you have no rights as you did not buy it but most stores will accept an item from anyone with the appropiate receipt. You have the right for one of the 3 Rs (Repair, Replacement or Refund) but the store will decide which one they offer (or in what order).

Best bet is to put it all back in a box; grab the receipt and go into the store and see what they say.
