Organs donated. The rest get cremated.

No funeral, but probably some kind of service. So perhaps 'The show must go on' by Queen.

A Fnnish Metal / Opera group Nightwish with Tarja siging would be my choice.

    "Angls fall first".

    "Dead boys poem"

I'm surprised The End by The Doors hasn't been mentioned.

Into the West, from The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King. Brilliant lyrics:

    Lay down
    Your sweet and weary head
    Night is falling
You have come to journey's end
    Sleep now
And dream of the ones who came before
    They are calling
    From across a distant shore
    Why do you weep?
What are these tears upon your face?
    Soon you will see
All of your fears will pass away

    Safe in my arms
    You're only sleeping

    What can you see
    On the horizon?
Why do the white gulls call?
    Across the sea
    A pale moon rises
The ships have come to carry you home
    And all will turn
    To silver-glass
    A light on the water
    All souls pass

    Hope fades
    Until the world of night
    Through shadows' falling
    Out of memory and time
    Don't say
We have come now to the end
    White shores are calling
You and I will meet again

And you'll be here in my arms
    Just sleeping

    What can you see
    On the horizon?
Why do the white gulls call?
    Across the sea
    A pale moon rises
The ships have come to carry you home
    And all will turn
    To silver-glass
    A light on the water
    Grey ships pass
    Into the West

A song I have loved since I was a baby. Still brings me to tears.

Also like this, if they're stuck for stuff to play this'll do fine:p

also want my organs donated and to be buried, not cremated.

    No service. Cremate my body.

Just all my close friends and family, ashes scattered at Clare Glens, with this playing :)

The last chorus of "Three Wheels on my Wagon", i.e., "No Wheels on My Wagon"

I want my funeral speeded up and set to the Benny Hill theme.

Organ donation card signed and in my poca. But three songs, Will Young's Think I gotta Leave Right Now, the aforementioned Time to Say Goodbye by Sarah Brightman and Andrea Boccelli, plus Take That's Back for Good, thrown in for good measure.

Frivolous Suggestion: I'll Never Get Out Of This World Alive by Hank Williams. :p

Serious Suggestion: Beethoven Symphony No. 2 Opus 36, Movement 2 "Larghetto".

Beethoven's "Pastoral" Symphony (No. 6) might be better known, especially the "Shepherd's Song" final movement, but I still prefer this piece. The history is important: it dates from the period when Beethoven was coming to terms with his increasing deafness, and facing his own mortality.

From out there on the moon, international politics look so petty. You want to grab a politician by the scruff of the neck and drag him a quarter of a million miles out and say, ‘Look at that, you son of a bitch’.

I'm watching the Roger Waters - In The Flesh dvd at the moment; he's doing mostly Pink Floyd songs obviously. There's quite a few songs that would fit the bill nicely - 'Amused to Death', 'In the Flesh', 'Comfortably Numb', 'Shine On You Crazy Diamond', 'Time', 'Wish You Were Here'.. but I'd pick 'Breathe (In the Air)' as my favourite funeral song now.

They can play all the soppy sentimental crap they want for the service, but I want this playing while I'm being brought out of the church to make everyone smile:

And then there'll be a big piss-up in my local after with all the crappy songs on my mp3 player blasting out over the speakers. :D

Also, I've everyone told that my organs are to be donated if possible. And also that if they dare have an open coffin I will haunt them forever. Seriously the idea of people staring at me when I can't stare back ... for some reason it totally creeps me out!

    Meridith Brooks- Bitch
(The lyrics are like reading off a list of my personal traits.)

On a similar note: Alanis Morrisette- One Hand In My Pocket

Within Temptation's "The Truth Beneath The Rose" because it would be epic to have it played in a Gothic cathedral with a smoke machine...

Evanescence- "Like You" for some funeral melancholy.

    And on a lighter note:

    Sum 41-Fat Lip

Monty Python- Always Look On The Bright Side Of Life.
I'd stipulate that if everyone didn't sing along and whistle to this they'd get cut out of the will!

if i die young i want this played because it's my fave song of all time and it's lyrics actually mean something

    Lyrics
I Flew beyond the sun before it was time
Burning all the gold that held me inside my shell
Waiting for you to pull me back in
I almost sat the world in my sights

    Lost, love bright eyes fading
    Faster than stars falling
How can I tell you thatI failed?
    Tell you I failed

Fallen from grace cause I been away too long
Leaving you behind with my lonesome song
    Now I'm lost in oblivion

I tried to bore a hole into the ground
Breaking all the fingers and the nails from my hand
The eyes of the child see no wrong
    Ignorant bliss impending doom

    Lost, love bright eyes fading
    Faster than stars falling
How can I tell you that I failed?
    Tell you I failed

Fallen from grace cause I been away too long
Leaving you behind with my lonesome song
    Now I'm lost
Fallen from grace cause I been away too long
Leaving you behind with my lonesome song
    Now I'm lost in oblivion

Fallen from grace cause I been away too long
Leaving you behind with my lonesome song
    Now I'm lost
Fallen from grace cause I been away too long
Leaving you behind with my lonesome song
    Now I'm lost in oblivion
    In oblivion

Lyrics to Day Is Gone :
    Telling familiar stories
Invited us to our home for some soup
    Bothered by steam
We clipped our wing, so we can't fly

    Better than better than what?
    Some dying off
    A rocket ship
Looks as if a day is gone
Looks as if a day is missing
    Everyone's trying to leave
    Lorries driving to the sea
Who is that who slammed the door?
Looks as if a day has gone away

    More active than scraps alive
Sleep for weeks but often stirring
    More alive than anyone swears
As born were we from hollow trees
    Telling familiar stories
Invited us to our home for some soup
    Bothered by steam
We clip our wing, so we can't fly away

Looks as if a day is gone
Looks as if the day is playing
Looks as if a day is gone
Looks as if a day has gone away
