Japanese developer Arc System Works has confirmed to NowGamer that producer Daisuke Ishiwatari intends to developer a new Guilty Gear game for the PS3 and Xbox 360

On a pre-Christmas visit to the NowGamer offices, Arc System Works' Business Development Director Tomo Ohno fielded a question on the possiblity of a Capcom-style crossover for the company's 2D fighters BlazBlue and Guilty Gear.

“Personally I don’t like that idea,” Ohno replied. “What we can say about Guilty Gear is that it is not dead yet. It has not ended. The producer/creator of Guilty Gear, Daisuke Ishiwatari, his comment for this meeting [was] ‘I have the full intention to create Guilty Gear for PS3 and 360.’

Ohno didn't totally dismiss the chances of a crossover between the rock-music themed fighter and the soon-to-be released fantasy fighter BlazBlue in the future. “It’s a different world – it’s not BlazBlue taking over Guilty Gear, but Guilty Gear is an important thing for us and we want to make sure fans of Guilty Gear continue to have fun in that world."

"BlazBlue is a new thing, and there might be some crossover but at the moment we don’t have any plans.”
BlazBlue comes to Europe for the PS3 and Xbox 360 on 1 February, 2010.

    This makes me happy.

It would definitely be awesome to have GG back from the clutches of infernal executive meddling.
