Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I've been trying to sign up to biker.ie but im not receiving the confimation email. I think there may be a problem with their mail server.

I cant find an email address for the admin but I figure the requlars here are probably the regulars over there.

    Could anyone help me out?

    Thanks

Could be that you can't use a hotmail or gmail account when signing up.
Just a thought, lots of sites/forums have that 'rule'.

Gmail is fine. I used mine to sign up no bother

but im not receiving the confimation email
When registering, there's a picture that says:
Due to an increased spamming issues on the forum, we are no longer accepting registrations from certain IP's and ANY hotmail email account, we apologise for the inconvienience.
More information can be found at http://www.biker.ie/forum/showthread.php?t=50474 (which you can only access when you're registered :D).

If you're stupid enough to have a Hotmail account rather than GMAIL, then as my friend Jack would say- sell crazy somewhere else, we're all stocked up here

Yes, I did. But as you may not know, in Invision Power Board, that message is routed through the email system. If the email system is broken, the message wil not be sent.

This is why I waited 24 hours (after sending the message) before posting this.

OP - save your breadth, biker.ie manned by a noddy, irishbikerforum.ie is better.

“And my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, generates funds to the exchequer. You don't want to acknowledge that as truth because, deep down in places you don't talk about at the Green Party, you want me on that road, you need me on that road. We use words like freedom, enjoyment, sport and community. We use these words as the backbone of a life spent instilling those values in our families and loved ones. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the tax revenue and the very freedom to spend it that I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise I suggest you pick up a bus pass and get the ********* ********* off the road”

Well he goes under the username of Iano over there. Whether that's his real name or not I don't know. Apart from maybe advice on The Workshop section, the rest of it is just silly childish sh!te on the General Bike Chat, Off Topic etc sticking up Youtube vids, whinging about the ' Cops ', talking bollox about how much they had to drink and what a mad time they had at some social night or meet up etc

That's pretty much it summed up! If someone posts up something about the cops - no matter what, everyone feels they have to give out about the cop! Think some of the bikers think they're in a 50's biker gang who have to rebel against authority! A bike cop posts on there and he usually gives the cops point of view which is good, usually puts a few of the moaners in their place.
I got banned a while ago for nothing. Got the option of making a donation or deleting my account. So I deleted my account, haven't been back since. Irish Biker Forum all the way

I was banned myself purely for being a mod on IBF. I was asked for a "donation" as well to unban my account

" Think some of the bikers think they're in a 50's biker gang who have to rebel against authority! " Exactly. Half of them are middle class accountants, IT managers etc. Sad insecure little men who drive a car most days.

As a frequest poster on both biker.ie from it's inseption and IBF (member #91) and who's never drove or owned a cage prefaring to ride 365 days of the year since a teen (buying my first 125 on my 17th birthday in 1979) - does that make me an insecure middle class [and aged!] person? Personally I find more a 'clique' on the latter forum than biker.ie - both serve a purpose for anyone who rides and enjoys bikes. So you've been banned from the former - big deal, get over it and show some respect to fellow bikers, whatever you ride. I find your replies to this thread shows a youthful insecurity in yourselves, call it a chip on your shoulder but in my book 'you earn respect in order to gain respect'

This won't end well, I don't see what will be gained from slagging off other forums.

P.S. I don't see how posts like these help anything.

As a non-Motorbike mod I'm loathe to tread on anyone's toes, but I gotta say that if you're posting this kind of stuff, you're making the mods' jobs harder, and if you see posts like these, please hit the report button so we can address them at the time.

I'm not meaning to single out these two posters, and I realise that this rivalry probably goes waaaaay farther back than a couple of posts, and me asking this will probably fall on deaf ears, but I'm asking (on behalf of all the motors mods) all the same.... please be aware that members of other forums read boards, and please report any posts that you feel may offend any members of those forums.
